Help with adult acne?

I%26#039;ve had acne since teens, am 23 now. It%26#039;s ranged from light to severe, but I%26#039;ve never been acne free. Recently went to my family doctor when I was sick, as a side note he prescribed Tetracycline to help with the acne. After reading the effects, I%26#039;m not interested in taking it long term. However, I only have an issue with facial acne, not anywhere else. Over the last year I%26#039;ve cut back on makeup more and more, now only use concealer and Physician%26#039;s Formula talc-free face powder. Could the makeup be the issue? I never go to bed with it on, wash my face every night, twice a day apply benzoyl peroxide cream, I drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits/veggies/fiber. I DON%26#039;T GET IT! It feels like I%26#039;m doing everything I can with no results. I don%26#039;t want to stop wearing makeup yet--I%26#039;ll feel like a troll--but do you think it would help that much? Does anyone have any tips/tricks/ideas?|||Part of your problem may be the witch hazel. Witch hazel closes your pores but does not remove the dirt and grim that is in the pores this equals more acne for some people. If you are having trouble with the products that contain benzoyle peroxide then you may want to switch to a product that contains sulfur. I would recommend the medicated acne masque from Bee-Luscious Cosmetics and for people with stubborn acne I would suggest the whole acne line from Bee-Luscious because they have products that contain benzoyle peroxide and sulfur plus special moisturizers for acne prone skin. They are not cheap products but you get superb products and they work better than anything else I have ever tried.|||HI Rachel

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood.

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - %26quot;What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body%26#039;s first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.%26quot;

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - %26quot;Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body%26#039;s overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.%26quot;

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world%26#039;s most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

Natural Cures

1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.

3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It%26#039;s time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://acnehomesolution.com that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.|||Hi There. What many people don%26#039;t know is that most soaps and cleansers on the market contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate into the pores of our skin so it sits on the top layer like saran wrap. This causes dirt and debris to collect on our face, thus causing our skin problems. The FDA does not regulate the use of skin care here in the US so you%26#039;ll find a lot of products that contain animal products and bi products, too high on the pH scale, not actually been tested (just %26quot;approved%26quot; or %26quot;recommended%26quot;), contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, etc. These strip your skins acid mantel which is its protective layer and causes more skin problems. Try Arbonne. It%26#039;s a Swiss company that is regulated by the FDA and formulates their products without mineral oil, alcohol, acetone, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, etc. Their products are botanically based and beneficial for all skin types. Arbonne has a popular anti-aging line but also an intelligence line and acne line (http://arbonne.com/products/beyond_basic鈥?/a> I would be happy to send you a free sample if you would be open to giving it a try.|||Make-up could be the issue but its most likely stress. The only way to totally get rid of it is medication. I have been on several antibiotics and I didn%26#039;t have any problems with them. The max I has to take them to clear up my acne was 3 months. Sucks if your on the pill but worth it if you want to get rid of your acne. If you don%26#039;t want to take a medication then you can be prescribed a cream. Only problem with creams is they dry your skin out very badly. make an appointment with a dermatologist. They specialize in skin. They know more then your family doctor would. You seem to be doing everything right, but sometimes thats not enough.|||My partner has problems with his skin, and only on his face too. He has been to a dermatologist but to no avail!

I was in the pharmacist the other week picking up some homeopathic sleeping tablets and I noticed some topical cream for dermatitis problems.

He has been using it ever since and it seems to work like magic! It%26#039;s called Graphites cream and is made by a company called Nelsons.

I will find the link and put it below. I don%26#039;t know whether you can get it where you are, but if you can it%26#039;s worth a try. It%26#039;s not that expensive (about 拢4) and he only needs a tiny bit. I bought it about 8 weeks ago and there is still half the tube left :) If you are in the UK you should be able to get it in most chemists/boots stores.

Something else that I have used in the past is either tea tree oil based products, or I dab on neat lavender essential oil. Don%26#039;t use neat tea tree essential oil, it burns like you know what lol!

I swear by natural products where possible as they tend to have the least (if any) side effects :)

CG.

EDIT: even if you have tried the all natural approach I would definitly recommend the Graphites cream and Lavender essential oil if you haven%26#039;t tried them before. I can%26#039;t guarantee them of course, but if it does work it%26#039;s worth it!|||Try this wonder product: witch hazel. It is found in the pharmacy next to the alcohol. But it is virtually odorless and really good for great skin!|||Have u like tried Pro Active or Clear Active ?
