Rosacea Skin, Adult Acne, Symptoms, Diet & Treatment?

Trying demodex folliculorum shampoo, seabuckhorn oil and meds for rosacea scar treatment. Is avobenzone sunscreen, cleansers, even ayurveda any use?|||Rosacea is a very common skin condition that causes redness, swelling and acne like bumps mostly on the face, though this skin disorder can also effect the scalp, neck, ears, chest and back - sometimes even the eyes.

More often than not, people mistakenly attribute their awful looking complexions to adult acne, when in fact rosacea is the cause. Today over 14 million Americans, and more than 45 million people worldwide suffer and struggle with silent symptoms.

Some of the suspected causes of Rosacea include:

1. a combination of heredity and environment

2. an immune system disorder

3. a more generalized vascular disease, where rosacea is a subcomponent of the other condition (those with rosacea do flush easily)

4. an infection of the stomach caused by H pylori bacteria.

Doctors do know that rosacea often passes down through generations. Other key risk factors include:

5. Being fair skinned

6. Being of northern European or Celtic origin (although rosacea has been observed in African American%26#039;s and others with highly pigmented skin tones)

7. Being female

Probably the most confusing (not to mention costly) part of managing your rosacea is finding the right products. Cleansers. Sunscreens. Moisturizers. They%26#039;ll all become a part of your skin care routine. There%26#039;s also some great makeup and concealers you can use to cover up your symptoms during flare ups, without making things worse. Your doctor might talk with you about topical and oral medications, as well as some of the state-of-the-art treatments like laser therapy, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion or cosmetic procedures that can help.

All the best medical help in the world isn%26#039;t enough if you aren%26#039;t willing to do your part as well. Avoiding the triggers (once you know what they are) is key. Eating right, and sensible supplementing (with your doctor%26#039;s okay of course) also can make a world of difference in how you look. You can have that healthy, glowing complexion you%26#039;ve always wanted, so long as you%26#039;re willing to make sincere lifestyle changes to help keep your symptoms under control.

Once you know for sure what you%26#039;re dealing with, you can take steps right away to make things better.

The truth of the matter is, when it comes to treating acne you should really seek out advice from a professional such as a dermotologist. I am 21 years old and I am on a product right now called Accutane. It has cleared up my acne in no time!

There really is no way for me to tell you what type of product to use because there are different types of acne and I don%26#039;t know enough about you to give you substantial advice.

Surprisingly, this attitude can result in more harm than good. This is because many over the counter acne treatments have been designed to treat teen acne. These medications may not be potent enough to combat adult acne, whose primary causes vary from teen acne. Always consult a dermatologist to get the proper treatment of adult acne. The doctor can find out the main cause of the adult acne.

Also cutting junk food and pop out makes a big difference. I stopped eating any chips or greasy foods and pop about 6 months ago and haven%26#039;t had one breakout since. Taking vitamin e suppliments helps too because it keeps your skin healthier. And remember to use sun protection regularly! Also remember it takes a while to get rid of toxins in your body so don%26#039;t be discouraged if the effect isn%26#039;t immediate.|||The best product out there, is the small bottle of lotion that is included in the ProActive set. How does the adult male body excrete zinc? I take it for my acne.?

Zinc is the only thing that%26#039;s worked on my chest/ shoulder acne. I take two 50mg tablets daily, but I want to know if that%26#039;s healthy or building up somewhere. The bottle says to take one per day.|||If the zinc you are taking is water-soluble, it will be excreted through the kidneys.

If it is NOT water-soluble, it can build up in the liver and eventually cause a problem.

If the zinc supplement is not water soluble, you should abide the directions for dosing. Doubling the dose won%26#039;t help you because the body can only metabolize and use so much zinc daily. The excess would get stored in the liver and tax that organ.

Even if you are taking a water-soluble zinc, taking a double dose is pointless.

Check with your pharmacist if the label does not specify the solubility. I think most zinc supplements sold today are in fact water-soluble, but check to be safe.|||My suggestion is to do what it says. If you want to take more than it says to, then talk to your doctor. And I%26#039;m pretty sure your body doesn%26#039;t store zinc anywhere specific, it%26#039;s just a mineral like calcium. Just remember that too much of a good thing can still be bad. So, like I said, ask your doctor if it%26#039;s okay to take more than it says to.|||Sweat it out Pee it out Flush it out with Kidney Stones Remedies|||You most likely pee it out. It shouldn%26#039;t build up as long as you don%26#039;t exceed the recommended dosage.|||don%26#039;t worry your body uses it and then excretes it in your excrement.

The mild times it was 1-2 breakouts during my period. In the end, once i switched to Cetephyl to wash my face, it went away. Based on the research i did - there are 2 things that can cause the breakout - the hormones of your period (testosorone cause more oil production or sebum I think they call it) and the stickiness of your skin (on a micro-level) for it not to get trapped. I had my hormones tested and they came back normal, I switched to cetephyl and haven%26#039;t had a breakout since. good luck!

I was getting the peels every 6 weeks but I have not had one for about 4 months now and I am just now starting to break out again so I will make an appointment to go back. Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

By far, Proactive is the best for acne. I had real problems a few years ago and nothing would touch it. Proactive cleared it up within a few weeks. What to do for adult acne.I keep clean, but it keeps returing.I get it on my chin, chest and back. What gives.

If you%26#039;re using acne products, check the main ingredient. Most of them have salicylic acid, which doesn%26#039;t work for MANY people, myself included. I was advised to use products with benzoyl peroxide as the active ingredient, and my skin started clearing up within a week.

I use Clean%26amp;Clear continuous control, which has 10% bp, 2x a day.In between I use regular yellow Dial soap, which is an antibacterial.

All this is drying, so I use Neutrogena%26#039;s Intensified Day Moisture 1-2 times a day as needed.

I%26#039;m 47, and before I started theis regimen, I had the worst breakouts of my LIFE.....so I guarantee it works!|||What works the best for me is this: Use soap-free cleanser, like Aveeno or Purpose, morning and night. Then, in the morning I also use clindamycin lotion (rx) and then before I go to bed I use retin-a micro (rx)..but only a little..it might irritate your skin at first. Plus retin-a micro also prevents wrinkles, so it does more than keeping it clear!! Oh..and for moisturizer I use cetaphil.

And for the chest and back..make sure you wash this area AFTER you use conditioner...conditioner runs onto the skin and can cause acne for some people.|||Avon has a great product. Yes, Avon. its not severe, its just annoying because as an adult, i have plenty of things to worry about and i dont want my skin to be one of them.

any suggestions as to how to help my skin clear up a bit?? i was my face daily with a salicylic acid face wash. it helps to clear up the acne i have, but it doesnt prevent more acne from coming!!!|||I too have such a problem, I went to the doctor and was given soap to wash my face with, cream to apply and also antibiotics. Mine is due to oily skin, but the doctor said that it could also sometimes due to stress.|||The number one cause of adult acne is stress. It can also be diet. Also, if you use lotion on your face, be careful of what kind it is. Some lotions block pores, especially on the face, which can cause breakouts. Report Abuse
|||Proactive did not help me at all. It dried up my skin, but I loved their mask. First of all make sure you drink plenty of water. Try Mark Kay or Clinique. I tried them both back in college and liked them a lot. I just never had money to keep getting them.|||Acne Removal?

I found that DUAC once daily gel worked wonders. You need a prescription for it. I also tried chemical peels and am now trialing light therapy- will let you know if it works! I also love Ella Bache Revitalsant, it is a skin refining exfoliant- I recommend it to everyone! Good luck!|||use noxema as a cleanser and avoid face makeup as much as possible.also apply toothpaste to the acne and leave it on for fifteen minutes.it will dry it up after a couple of days.|||I know what you mean. As a teenager I too never had acne and now as an adult I get it. But I think it%26#039;s pretty common I have heard of others with the same problem. Mary kay has a wonderful acne cream. As well as a great skin care program. Go to www.marykay.com/klebron1 and find out more.|||I never had acne as a teenager either, i%26#039;m older than 22 and I have problems with it. Some Dermatologist say that acne can be a result of not eating correctly, on top of not drinking the correct amounts of WATER. This causes toxins to build up in the body from the poor diet and not being flushed out of the system (this is where the water comes in.) The toxins seep into the pores of the skin as this is the body%26#039;s attempt to somehow get rid of it and the result is acne.

Salicylic Acid does not help me at all but Walmart%26#039;s equivalent to Pro Acne worked wonders. Here where I live, that still costs about 19.99 and that can get pretty costly b/c you have to continue to use it as long as you have the problem. I have found a wonderful soap called Peridox, that contains 10% benzoyl peroxide and it works wonderfully. There is also a great new line of products out by the makers of Oxy Wash, called Chill Factor that I am currently using, (its quite a bit cheaper than the Peridox soap, which runs anywhere from 5 to 8 dollars per bar where I live.) So far so good, the product is working great and I love the cool feeling effect it gives my face. Sort of like i%26#039;ve washed my face with a breath mint? LOL

Anyway, good luck with your skin care regimen and let me know if you find a great product that helps you.|||Hello there,

MK has a Microderm Abrasion Set, it is not marketed for the treatment of acne, but people have seen wonderful results with it. So my daughter started using the Timewise 3in1 cleanser, moisturizer, and the microderm. We are both amazed at the results. She had tried everything in the past. And I do mean EVERYTHING! Does anything other than "dirt" cause pimples? Adult acne?

I wash my face morning and night with a 3 part routine and I still get pimples. I know my face can%26#039;t be dirty enough for this to be happening. |||Stress levels, if you are getting close to your period, eating oily or fatty foods (chocolate, potato chips), picking at existing pimples, not washing face correctly, if what you are using now is not working i would suggest changing products (clean and clear sells a good 3 part set so does acne free and proactive), and touching your face alot (like resting your head in your hands and even sitting with your cell phone against your face) can all cause pimples. Sometimes getting a little sun can help with pimples. You are however supposed to get a few pimples every once and awhile it is normal and if you struggle with body acne like on your back that could be a result of wearing tight shirts or sweating alot. Hope this helped! Good luck!|||Ok! its very good that you wash your face many time. But pimples is not only from dirty. The other cause may be eating food, bad food .You should eat home made food.If you eat outside food than you face with pimple. So, i advice you to eat home made(mother made)food,So,that you can free from pimples.|||It could be food allergies to dairy, wheat or soy. Too much sugar and refined foods. Adult Acne washes and treatments?

I%26#039;m going on 21 in a few months and ever since I turned 20 my acne has been REALLY bad.. I need to know what I can buy at a regular store that isn%26#039;t over the top expensive and actually works.. I%26#039;m talking face washes and treatments. Thanks.|||First make sure you aren%26#039;t putting anything else on there, or if you started using a new hair product (some sort of leave-in conditioner or serum). No lotions, etc.

Anyway, I use neutrogena, it is the %26quot;transparent facial bar%26quot; and it doesn%26#039;t have the salicylic acid in it (so you use that with whatever medication you use, and then keep using that. it is gentle on your skin because there is no actual medicine in it)

i have a benzoyl peroxide prescrpiton from the doctor (and if the acne is red and inflammed it is infected and could be treated with antibiotics if you and your doctor choose)

try using things like clearasil (Benzoyl peroxide) and also use something with salicylic acid (the other big acne medication ingredient). Use them both, maybe at different times of the day, but start out with a little because it will dry your skin and you have to get used to it. Also remember that the acne will get worse the first 2 weeks or so (that is normal, then it starts to get better. Dont stop because it gets w orse the first 2 weeks). and if it is really bad you can go to the doctor|||Hey,

I used to have acne really bad and know how you feel. One day I was searching for acne cures and crap I found this blog http://www.AcneCuresForLife.blogspot.com haha( I bookmarked it lol )

Anyway, I hope that helps!

Jonathan|||your hormones are a mess. it happens. you can try phisoderm.. theyre stuff usually works good. i use cetaphil bar soap and mint julep face mask. exfoliate at least once a week (you can add sugar to your face wash) or buy a scrub. i%26#039;d recomend a medicated scrub. make sure to get a oil controlling lotion too all the salsylic acid or peroxide will dry out your skin. and dont be suprised if your skin gets worse before better

Anyone have/had problems with adult acne?

I%26#039;m 30 years old and in the last year I%26#039;ve developed adult acne, I%26#039;m currently using Noxema, a Noxema acne pad and finishing with Vitamin E cream and it seems to be helping. Anyone used this? Anyone use something else that helped? Please give me share what worked for you!!!

Need natural/home remedies for adult acne?

I am 27 and for the first time in my life I am having acne. Due mostly to a big change in my body caused by extreme stress and trauma. It only occurs in the chin/mouth area. I have been fighting this for two years. Have tried counteless OTC medications, switch in birth control (which helped for a while) and my most recent attempt was Pro-Active (as seen on tv). I am a full time college student with no insurance- which means, don%26#039;t tell me to go to a dermatologist, can%26#039;t afford. I prefer natural rememdies if you have any advice. Thanks!|||Yeah, sorry, dermatologist is pretty much all you%26#039;ve got left. I%26#039;ve had acne since I was about 13 (now 28). I started with your basic skin care that you can get at the drug store then moved on to Pro-Active. Nothing seemed to help. I did see my dermatologist at the on campus clinic (I%26#039;m in college too) and he prescribed Clyndamycin (an anti bacterial) and Retin-A to be used in conjunction with Oil of Olay or Dove cleansers. There is a HUGE difference now.

If your school has a clinic check with them. They may be able to help and give you options for health insurance too. Or at least maybe treat the basics.|||Things like toothpaste on the individual bumps can help clear them. But the best thing I found was to change my diet. I went on a carrot juice fast, the result was amazing. Report Abuse

|||Based on your description, going to the dermatologist is about the only thing you have left. There are some cheaper antibiotics that may help such as minocycline coupled with the diuretic spirinolactone - this regimen helps a small percentage of people with adult onset acne. But, you probably will wind up on about six months of Accutane or one of the generic accutanes and they cost somewhere around 300 to 400 a month depending on the dosage you%26#039;re on.|||I use a natural remedy but I buy it at Vitamin World. It%26#039;s called Acne Relief and I paid $5.00 for a months supply. The first active ingredient is Belladonna (Nightshade which is poisionous in larger doses) and it works wonders for me. It%26#039;s in a yellow box with blue writing so if you have a vitamin store close to you, just call and ask if they have it.

I%26#039;ve had acne for 20 years and have spend thousands of dollars on %26#039;cures%26#039;, which of course didn%26#039;t work.

I have also tried honey, just dabbing honey on my face before going to bed. It did help but it made an awful mess and my hair was stuck to my face when I woke up :( . Good luck

Besides oral contraceptives, Accutane and antibiotics, what helps adult acne?

I visited a dermatologist and got a prescription for Nicomide, which is basically a concentrated combination of B vitamins, zinc and copper. I have cystic acne and fond that this reduced the number of outbreaks, their severity and how long they lasted. There are basically no side effects to this medication, the only downside is that some insurance companies don%26#039;t cover it because it is considered a multi vitamin (you do need a prescription though.)

Are there any effective adult acne treatments over the counter?

I find clearpores works extremely well, but there are many others like acnezine, proactiv, zenmed.|||I have heard great things about Proactive Solution. My sister uses it and I have watched the infomercial many times. Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson, P Diddy, Vanessa William, Lindsey Lohan and many other Hollywood stars use it too. You can order it online, but most stores like Walmart, Target, Walgreens and as seen on tv stroes carry it too. It%26#039;s about $20 bucks but they say it works good.

Keep all %26quot;products%26quot; off of your face. Keep your hands away from your face and don%26#039;t pick. Wash your bedding daily. Keep your hair off of your face at all times. Oh yes, I almost forgot.............Watch your diet closely. Avoid greasy and spicy foods and alcohol. Eat well, sleep well, exercise, and try to avoid stress (if you can).|||Hi there. I%26#039;m 26, F, and from the time I was 14 up until a little less than 6 months ago I had acne as well. I really like Skin Perfection. It uses the following:

Lactic Acid to exfoliate and cleanse.

Salicylic Acid to reduce redness and inflammation

Glycolic Acid as moisturizer to prevent over drying .

During my twelve years of dealing with this mess, I have used about everything on the market, including a few of the big RX drugs and Proactive and some of the other big name store brands. Basically they all dried my skin out too much or worked for a short time and stopped working. Skin Perfection has really made a difference. I started using it about 6 months ago, saw the first results in about 3 days and within about 3 weeks or so, my skin was almost completely clear.

Also, they were offering a free 30 trial when I first ordered, so I got to see if it helped before investing any real money into it. I say that, I think they charged $10 for shipping, but it was still a good deal in my opinion. Here is the link I used:

It has a lot of vitamin A in it which supposedly can build up so don%26#039;t take too much.

Vitamin A has been known to help some people with certain skin problems which in my family seems to be the situation.

Cod liver oil can taste awful so they took capsules and it seemed to be more effective on their skin and less of a problem than other forms of vitamin A - along with the fact it%26#039;s Fish Oil which has some of those fatty acids you mentioned.

Best product for adult acne?

A solution made out of one and a half cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder is an ideal remedy for blackheads, Saturate a face napkin in this hot solution and press on to the skin, repeat twice. Extract blackheads carefully with a blackhead remover and sterilized cottonwool. Pat on an astrigent.

47. Honey is a great remedy for skin blemishes and acne because the honey kills bacteria.

These are some effective home remedies for the treatment of acne and blackheads.|||I used to have moderate (sometimes severe) acne. I tried many drugstore cleansers from Neutrogena, Clean %26amp; Clear, Clearasil, etc. None of them ever worked! Not even medicated ones that contained triclosan or benzoyl peroxide, which kill bacteria. And using rubbing alcohol as a toner just irritated my skin. Isapropyl (rubbing) alcohol is very bad for your skin. Yes, it sops up the oil -- but it also damages and dries out your skin. Dried out skin causes your oil glands to produce even more oil.

So I decided to take the more natural route. I switch between two cleansers that I like -- Burt%26#039;s Bees Garden Tomato Soap ($7) and Grassroots See Your Way Clear Extremely Thorough Cleansing Gel($12). I also use the Grassroots Get Glowing Deep Sea Mud Scrub ($15) and Grassroots Get Grounded Skin Purifying Clay Mask ($14) several times a week. You can find the Grassroots products at Kohl%26#039;s stores and Kohl%26#039;s online store at www.kohls.com. Kohl%26#039;s often has sells. Their mask is by far the best mask I%26#039;ve ever used, and when I am using the Tomato Soap my skin almost glows. You can find the Burt%26#039;s Bees Garden Tomato Soap at Longs Drugs, natural food stores, or online at places like www.drugstore.com.

I also use Common Sense Pure Shea Butter on my face at night. You have to let it melt in your hand before you apply it, though. I found this product and Burt%26#039;s Bees soap really help fade my acne scars. That%26#039;s because shea butter contains a lot of Vitamins C, E, and A. Vitamins C and E together help fade scars. You can find shea butter in natural food stores or online at www.drugstore.com.

I also try to drink more water and liquids, and I change my pillow case every few days. I also don%26#039;t wear foundation or concealor anymore. This regimen has given me the clearest skin I%26#039;ve had since I was 12 (I am now 19). I know the Grassroots products seem expensive, but they do last a long time.

Erm, sorry this answer wound up being so long! I%26#039;ll shut up now!|||try Murad... its whut i use... and my face is really clear... and its staying clear! its such a nice feeling! good luck!|||I am 46 and up until a month ago I had acne, not really, really bad but enough that I was uncomfortable with it, and I was watching QVC or HSN one day and orderd the stuff they were touting it is called La Jungle, I bought it because of the moisturizer and firming cream, the tiny lines and the not so tiny lines were getting the best of me, well to make a long story short, the stuff is GREAT!!!!! With in 1 mth the lines are deminished drastically but the added plus is that so is the acne!! I could not believe it! I have a friend who does not hand out the compliments very easily, but she just went on and on about how good my complexion was, and how much younger I looked! For her to say something like that was a real shocker for me! The price is on the higher end, but less than proactive and any thing you%26#039;ll get from a dermatologist. And believe me I have tried everything too. I have a whole cabnet full of junk that just made things worse and burned like crazy. It takes alot for me to be impressed the way this stuff has impressed me.|||DO NOT Put Alcohol on your face! Doing so will cause more harm than anything else you%26#039;ve tried. You may just want to start drinking more water. I hate water but I started drinking it (at least 5 glasses a day) and my face has cleared up alot. You may just go to the Dermatalogist for some products, but I like Swiss Ives face products just make sure its the right kind for your skin|||I HAVE I WENT TO A DERMATOLIGIST THEY DESCRIBED MINOCYCLINE WHICH REALLY WORKED.SORRY FOR ALL CAPS AND I HOPE I HELPED:P|||I use Retin-A. You have to get it prescribed from a doctor, and then you can pick it up from a chemist. It%26#039;s the only thing that has ever worked for me.. I tried Pro-Activ, but that made everything worse.

My high school acne product isn't cutting it anymore, any suggestions for my adult acne?

I used to just use Clean and Clear and I was fine, but now I%26#039;m getting more blemishes again...I haven%26#039;t changed my routine in any way, (I guess I work out more than I did, but I don%26#039;t work out in makeup and I wash the sweat off when I%26#039;m done....) but other than that I don%26#039;t know what else could be causing the C%26amp;C to not work anymore...maybe I just need a new product...any suggestions? Thanks! (^_^)|||It is the summer time, do you wear sun block? The suns rays can play a role in acne, Research shows that exposure to sun rays may also be one of many acne causes. This may even cause acne a few months after exposure. Also not drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water daily can effect it as well. When you drink water, the toxins in our body exits out of our urine, basically being washed out of our systems. When you don%26#039;t drink enough water, the toxins want to exit your body so therefore they exit out the pores of our skin, this creating acne.

Could Adderall, Red Bull drink, or very little water be causing my adult acne?

I%26#039;m 24 and had occational breakouts up until I was 22. Then I started Adderall XR 30 mg twice/day. I started to get acne around the same time. Now I have a hard job and drink about 24 oz of sugerfree red bull and only about 30 oz of water a day. My acne is pretty bad now and I just can%26#039;t figure out why it would go from fairly normal breakouts to acne in my early twenties. I%26#039;m so frustrated because I have a public job and its very embarrassing. I%26#039;m happy and confident with myself otherwise, but I%26#039;ve tried everything OTC and can%26#039;t stop breaking out.|||Adderall and red bull probably don%26#039;t add much to it, but if you drink more water, that can really help your skin. If the OTC stuff doesn%26#039;t work, you can go to your doctor and get a few perscriptions, they now have pills and LOTS of creams for acne|||well i know when i was drinking lots of pop i was breaking out and after i stopped(completely) i stopped breaking out|||I%26#039;m 27 and on Adderall XR as well. I can tell you that it hasn%26#039;t caused me to break out at all. Although, between you and I, it%26#039;s the miracle I%26#039;ve been praying for in terms of concentration! :)

I would say that drinking water would help tons. And yes, stress does cause you to break out more. My best suggestion is to maybe think about starting a work out routine to help you relax a little!

Also, if you get really self-conscious about it, you can try going to a dematologist about your breakouts, he/she can help you out with something stronger than just otc stuff.|||You really need to drink more water. I%26#039;m sure it would help immensely.|||Stress can cause acne to get worse. Studies have shown that the foods we eat are not a major contributor to acne breakouts...things like chocolate or fatty foods.

You%26#039;re probably best off treating it frequently with an astringent like Sea Breeze, taking a vitamin A or beta carotene supplement and seeing a dermatologist if it continues to get worse.

What is the best way to get rid of acne as an older teen or adult?

I have had acne since i was 12. I am 19 now and it still wont go away. Its mainly around my jawbone and chin area. What do i do??? HELP!!!!! :)|||I personally use rubbing alcohol.. It dries up acne within 2 days and doesn%26#039;t rob your skin of essential oils either..|||Hi, I have been using clinique for more the 4 years and its been so good for me, I love it! I would never change it for anything else, even though is a little bit expensive but is better then something chip, they sell separately or by kit it really work you can log on to Clinique.com or just go to any mall and ask for the Clinique, then ask for the skin care for men, they ask what kind of skin you have, oily, dry or between? and they will give you just what you need, Im telling you it works! but you have to wash your face everyday and fallow the instructions.|||Acne on jabwone and chin area are a sign of improper hormonal balance in your body. I don%26#039;t know the reason for your hormonal condition. It could be birth control, or it can be just genetics.

The fact is. Hormonal imbalance causes sebaceous glands to produce too much sebum (oil) that clogges pores and cause acne.

No matter what product you use from the outside, your sebaceous glands will continue to produce too much oil and over and over again cause new acne.

So it%26#039;s logical it%26#039;s necessary to deal with the problem from the inside and out.

The only product that offers complete solution is ClearPores. You can read everything about it here: http://www.clearpores.com/clicks/clickth鈥?/a>

You get 3 products in one. One cleansing lotion and one protective lotion. But the most important and most efficient is the herbal supplement that helps your body from the inside. It helps kill the bacteria that is still caught deep inside skin layers and also help that glands produce less oil.

That%26#039;s the only good permanent solution for your problem I could think of.

Good Luck, hope this helped!|||Lime juice, tomato slices, home made packs can be used for treating acne. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for pimples at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html|||I have heard that proactive actually works.

There was a question about it on Yahoo Answers that I came not too long ago and most people said that it worked. Supposedly it is some very powerful stuff, so if you have sensitive skin it might not work or your skin gets worse.....

MIght be worth it to check it out though|||I would suggest proactiv, but it doesnt dry out your skin. It works, but i%26#039;ve noticed that i%26#039;ve never been too dry as long as you use it correctly. And if you do try it, dont quit too fast; you have to give it time and be consistant.

How can i get rid of adult acne?

You have to come up with about 180 for a dermatologist (in Detroit anyways) Then get good old fashion re tin A. Follow the directions Exactly! in 2 wks, you%26#039;ll be horrified and angry when you see brand new bumps, but hang in there. In another month you%26#039;ll just have fading scars. Good luck dear.|||Proactive is a great product if you use the system for a week or so your acne will clear up. You have to remember to cancel your order, otherwise they will keep sending you the stuff month after month for about $45 a month.|||Proactive Works..Clinique Also Has Some Great Products!|||Proactive

Adult acne, how can I clear it?

I am 34, and still suffer from acne on my face and back. I notice that eating citrus fruits brings it on bad, so I avoid them as much as possible. The only time it ever cleared up was when I was on the pill, but I don%26#039;t want to take that as it gave me killer migraines. It%26#039;s helped alot and there aren%26#039;t any side effects like from antibiotics.|||I%26#039;d see a dermatologist and ask for a perscription for Accutane. I took it quite a long time ago for six months and I haven%26#039;t had one breakout since. Your doctor will have to go over the pros and cons of taking it, but it works. Also, wash with a gentle cleanser like Nuterogena; it%26#039;s very gentle on the skin, but gets the job done to remove oils and all. Best of luck!|||I would try Proactive and if that does not work see a dermatologist.|||I would look into the Arbonne International line - it%26#039;s called Clear Advantage. It%26#039;s a wash, toner, and lotion and it%26#039;s botanically based. It has zinc in it, which helps to heal your skin faster. It also has a skin support vitamin that you take twice daily - this flushes the toxins out of your skin to the surface and your skin will get worse before it gets better. You need to heal your acne from the inside out or it isn%26#039;t going to go away. Arbonne offers a 45 day money back guarantee.

Whatever you choose, stick to it for at least 6 weeks to let your skin adjust.

To clear adult acne, what should I use? 10 salicic acid or 10 percent benzoyle peroxide?

just curious|||You can actually use both. Try one in the morning and one in the evening. Since they can be a little drying you may want to use a light facial moisturizer too.

What is the best adult acne treatment?

Pimples or acne can be treated very well with regular treatment. It is a common occurrence at a young age due to the sudden spurt in hormonal levels which increase oil production in the skin.

A course of treatment spread over 8-12 weeks provide excellent clearing of the eruptions. Occasionally some girls suffer from a condition called PCOD or Polycystic Ovarian Disease which makes treatment difficult. Tablets containing Isotretinoin (Accutane in the US and Sotret / Isotroin in India) are helpful in such cases although they should not be taken by girls without medical supervision. Minocycline or Doxycycline tablets too help.

There are several gels and creams containing Clarithromycin (Acnesol-CL gel / Crixan in India. ), Clindamycin ( Clindac-A, Clingard, Faceclin ) and Benzoyl Peroxide (Benzac AC/Pernex AC) which help to clear pimples. Tretinoin (Retino A), Adapalene (Adaferin) and glycolic acid (Glyco A) fades scars as well.

Also there are some chemical peel treatment which some doctors do for stubborn scars. The end result is quite good in most cases if the patient is truly patient.

For best results visit your doctor regularly and avoid applying moisturisers or undergoing facial cosmetic treatments

What can cause adult acne, abnormal periods(2001,2005,2006) and hair loss in an young adult?

hair loss started at age 21(1999), heavy period started in the fall of 2001, and adult acne started around 2003. You can get some more information at Soulcysters.com, but definately see a gynocologist.

They will probably put you on some combination therapy including Glucopghage (a diabetic medication).Personally I would recommend ProActive for your acne, kindof expensive, but worth it! Good Luck|||I have similar issues started at 25, now in my 40%26#039;s. I was told the anemia is from the heavy periods. The hair loss from not enough calcium and the adult acne from hormonal changes. Supposedly getting on the pill will shorten your period and make it lighter. The pill may also help with the acne. I chose to take calcium and iron supplements rather than the pill. It has helped. I still struggle with adult acne, and my bloodwork says I%26#039;m anemic every time.

The other thing with your hair- if it is really long and you keep it pulled back it will thin in the front from the tension/weight of hair.

Has anybody heard of or used the drug spironolactone in the treatment of adult acne?

Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic usually used in conjunction with other drugs for treatment of high blood pressure, primarily because it causes potassium-retention, which other diuretics do not. So, if high potassium is somehow beneficial for treatment of adult acne, then I guess that might make sense.|||Spiro doesn%26#039;t treat acne with high potassium, silly. It%26#039;s an anti-androgenic drug. It blocks the receptors on your skin from the testosterone in the blood. If you start acne treatments like AcneFree do you have to use it forever even into adult years?

or after your teens are over and you are done with puberty can you stop?|||Usually acne starts clearing up on its own somewhere around age 18 - 22. You continue using acne treatments as long as you need to, not forever.|||This is just temporary acne problems during teenage stage. It will soon overcome after you have past your teenage year and being an adult. You won%26#039;t have to use acn treatment for the rest of your live.

But let me give you some Tips for Day to Day Acne Care

Acne treatment for your acne should be accompanied by a healthy skin care routine.

Wash the affected area twice a day with mild soap. Use soap such as Dove, or one that contains benzoyl peroxide, such as Oxy-5. Wash as often necessary to keep the area clean. Do not scrub.

Shampoo the hair regularly.

Keep long hair off the face and shoulders and wash it daily.

Avoid shaving as much as possible; while shaving take care to avoid nicking the pimples.

Use a fresh shaving blade to minimize the chance of spreading the infection.

Avoid use of make-up or cosmetics in areas prone to acne. If you have to wear make-up, use only the hypoallergenic or fragrance free kind.

Don%26#039;t pop, pick, scratch, or squeeze your pimples. This may cause infection and scarring.

You may use an over-the-counter treatment that contain substances such as benzoyl peroxide (gel or cream) or salicyclic acid. Start with the lowest strength and apply once a day about half an hour after washing. Never use more than 5 percent strength without consulting a physician.

Food and Nutrition Recommendations for Acne:Some doctors believe that acne is not a food related problem. Some alternate practitioners use diet as a basis for their treatment of acne. They recommend that acne patients should eat foods high in beta-carotene, such as carrots, pumpkin, cantaloupe and other yellow-orange fruits and vegetables. They should also avoid fatty foods. Acnezine controls the oil secretion in your body to protect your skin from getting acne prone.

Note: People should not try to medicate themselves or others with any of the methods referred to here without the guidance of a qualified practitioner who is thoroughly familiar with both the remedies and the individual鈥檚 medical status.

Adult Acne washes and treatments?

I%26#039;m going on 21 in a few months and ever since I turned 20 my acne has been REALLY bad.. i have a benzoyl peroxide prescrpiton from the doctor (and if the acne is red and inflammed it is infected and could be treated with antibiotics if you and your doctor choose)

try using things like clearasil (Benzoyl peroxide) and also use something with salicylic acid (the other big acne medication ingredient).

|||Based on your description, going to the dermatologist is about the only thing you have left. There are some cheaper antibiotics that may help such as minocycline coupled with the diuretic spirinolactone - this regimen helps a small percentage of people with adult onset acne.

Good luck and I hope this helps you out.|||I%26#039;m a little bit younger than you, but I%26#039;ve been using Skin Perfection for a while now and it seems to be working. It might be worth a try.|||I do not have acne, but my 58-year-old boyfriend does. He manages it with liquid Dial soap and quite warm water (then rinse well with plain warm then cool water). Always use a freshly laundered washcloth and don%26#039;t wash too hard. Keep all %26quot;products%26quot; off of your face. Keep your hands away from your face and don%26#039;t pick. Wash your bedding daily. Keep your hair off of your face at all times. My boyfriend is nearly 60 and he doesn%26#039;t have ANY wrinkles at all. All that oil is good for that at least -lol. I%26#039;m 43 and have dry skin (lots of wrinkles). No, neither of us smoke.

Oh yes, I almost forgot.............Watch your diet closely. Avoid greasy and spicy foods and alcohol. Eat well, sleep well, exercise, and try to avoid stress (if you can).|||I have the worst adult acne ever seen on the face of this earth. My face is scarred from all the scratching I do because it itches constantly. I%26#039;m 38 and my doctor says its all diet related. NOT what I wanted to hear. Good luck!

I was told that if you take 3 omega 3 fatty acid tablets a day it will clear up adult onset acne. Is it safe?

Make sure you take the fish oil based product and not the plant product, and it is safe.|||ask your doc|||of coarse its safe|||Don%26#039;t know if it%26#039;ll work for you - depends on the person.

Do know that 2 of my kids cleared up their persistent acne by taking that old time %26quot;cure-all%26quot; - Cod Liver oil.
