How to get rid of Adult Acne...? HELP?

Ok, I am 24, never had acne this bad as a teenager, but this past year it has been horrable...I dont know what else to try, I have tried proactive and it just makes it worse and drys my skin out more... Toothpast works for the time being, but aslways come back...I naturally have an oily face, and try to keep it as clean as possable without over cleaning it...I heard about washing your face and then rubbing it down with alcohol to kill the bacteria...I may try that and see what happens...any ideas are welcome....Thanks...|||first, dont treat adult acne like teen acne. the stuff you use at age 14 isnt as effective on grown-up skin. heres a better way:

-pick creamy face products. gel formulas can be too drying on adult skin, which produces less oily sebum.

-exfoliate is an important step to clear skin. you must exfoliate twice a week depending how well your skin handles it

-rinse---really rinse.adults put alot more glop-makeup, lotions, etc---on their faces than teens do. when you wash at nigh, tack on a couple extra splashes around your chin and jaw (where adult acne tends to crop up at) to ensure theres no soap or makeup residue.

teens tend to get acne on their foreheads. adults gets it around the chin area|||i feel for you i am in my 30%26#039;s and just now experiencing acne when i had flawless skin my whole life, i too tried pro active and found out i am allergic to benzoil peroxide, i reccomed going to your family doctor to see what type you have and then see a dermotologist, adult acne is much harder to diagnos than teen acne.|||I know it sucks doesn%26#039;t it? I never had any acne as a teen. I started getting at about 25. Exfoliation is key. I use a mild face wash (Glytone) that contains glycolic acid (am and pm), I also use a glycolic treatment pad (pm only)(Glycolix 20%). You can purchase both products at www.skincarerx.com. You can get a sample size of the face wash for under $4. I also use MAMA Lotion, which is a great product. FRom time to time I will use various at home masks and spot treatments. Good Luck.|||go to a dermatologist who will give you strong face cream or tablets

also drink lots of water|||alchohol works. so does alot of face washes... i have acne too... theres alot of things that can work|||Though there is not much of difference between the adult acne and teen acne, it necessitates the use of stronger medicines. Always consult a dermatologist to get the proper treatment of adult acne. The doctor can find out the main cause of the adult acne. After diagnosing the cause, finding a simple prescription medication can eliminate the problem for good.
