For the past several months I%26#039;ve been getting really bad breakouts, like all over my face, neck and chest, Its gross. I dont know whats causing it, I havent had any hormonal changes..I%26#039;ve been on the same birth control(mirena) for almost 4 years and I%26#039;m not pregnant. I wash my face every morning and night, and I use only oil free lotion. I%26#039;ve tried using anti-acne products...salicylic acid makes it worse, benzoyle peroxide burns my skin...and my doctor prescribed somehting but it just makes my skin dry %26amp; itchy! (and it doent do anyhting for the acne) I dont get a period anymore bc of the mirena, but it seems to happen once a month. Anyone have any other ideas that I can try?|||This is what worked for me. I had the same problem. First, go to a spa and get a facial that includes the chest and neck. Second, don%26#039;t use that horrible drug store make-up. Revlon, cover girl, max factor---all that stuff is loaded with oil and pore clogging agents (even if it says it%26#039;s oil-free, there is still plenty of pore cloggers in the mix). Next, buy mineral based make-up. It may be pricier than the store stuff, but your complexion is worth it. I recommend glominerals. You can purchase the brand at most spas or maybe at the dermatologist%26#039;s office. You can see the glominerals products at www.glominerals.com.|||i guess you are somewhere between 13-18
dunt worry perfectly normal since you are going through puberty, you cannot prevent it but washing your face often is quite important
also when you are past puberty stage these will slowly wear off but the itchiness... i think you should use something cold like a icecube and ice it for a while but i duno wh it itches
sorry
and good luck|||I%26#039;m going thru the same thing right now, %26amp; I NEVER had bad skin when I was younger! I to have tried most acne products %26amp; perscriptions with no luck. Thus far, the only thing that has worked for me is actually the Proactiv system...well, part of it anyway....
Now, I have extremely sensitive skin %26amp; attempted this system 2x before, only to have dry %26amp; peeling skin after a week. I%26#039;ve altered the system a few times, taking out parts, adding others etc. %26amp; For me this is what is working:
-Full Proactiv System Includes: scrubbing Cleanser, Toner, Repairing Lotion, Masque
I no longer use the Cleanser or masque, only the toner %26amp; Repairing lotion.
-I%26#039;ve replaced the cleanser with a very mild fragrance free face wash squeezed onto a microfiber cloth for mild scrubbing.
-I mix a bit of my regular Avon Anew sensitive skin moisturizer to the repairing lotion to counteract the peeling effect...If it%26#039;s not dry, it cant peel!
This is working well for me right now, so I hope it will work for you too!!|||Retin A is the best treatment - prescribed by a Dr. You have to apply it everyday and be patient. A lso, exercise and drink lots of water with a bit of lime jc.|||I have heard amazing things about Proactiv.|||Have you tried using Spironolactone? It is generally used to treat water retention and high blood pressure, but it has also been proven to treat acne.
I take 25 mg. a day for fluid retention, but I have not had one pimple on my face since I started taking it over a year ago.
